Adib Fattal was born in 1962 in Washington, USA, with a Syrian father and a Palestinian mother. Adib is a self-taught artist with a degree in marketing from City University of New York. He currently lives in Syria at the foot of Mount Hermon with a cat, a dog and a parrot. Fattal has exhibited in Europe, USA, Canada and the Middle East in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Filu Forum in Germany and Small Art Forum The Heart in Michigan represent him as an artist.
Fattal's paintings are ablaze with colour and movement: cities and villages are inhabited by happy people engaged in their daily lives and living in harmony with each other and their surroundings. He explains: "Through my art I try to explore the beauty of the ordinary by providing carefully laboured and constructed tranquil scenes in order to celebrate the commonplace... The purpose of the work is to have people yearn for beauty and the normal."
